As every year, local and regional authorities, national and European decision makers, and associations will gather in Brussels to discuss and learn about how to implement the Cohesion Policy, showcase their good results and how they can have an impact on European good governance. This year’s edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities will focus on sustained and sustainable economic growth, inclusive economic growth and making EFSI Funds simpler.
The Region of North Aegean is organizing a side event during the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels, titled “Juncker Plan: What’s in it for the regions” on Wednesday 12 October.
The event is dedicated to the involvement of the Regions in the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). Our aim is to highlight how regions can be more structurally involved, present some best examples that already exist in Europe and at the same time tackle the difficulties the most deprived regions are facing in their involvement. More broadly, the event will also focus on improving the territorial dimension of the plan.
Representatives from the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the business sector will comprise the speaker panel to address a wide audience of local authorities from across Europe, European institutions, business representatives and academics.
